Kristen is currently the lead for Public Accreditation for Marin County Public Health. For much of 2020 and most of 2021, she has had to put aside much of the accreditation work and focus on the County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of her response role involved helping to organize community testing and vaccination programs, as well as public education efforts. Kristen has served as the chair of First 5 Marin and provides an important link to Marin County Health and Human Services. Kristen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Maine and a Master’s of Public Health from the University of Michigan. Throughout her career she has often worked with or for children including working with children in psychiatric hospitals, developing health and nutrition programs for children and families while serving in the Peace Corps in Madagascar, maintaining and implementing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures for San Francisco Head Start, and more. She now has two children of her own which has only served to increase her interest in ensuring that all children have what they need to be healthy, happy, and successful. She is grateful to be raising her family in Novato.
